Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 19, 2026
DevUtils (“we”, “us”, or “the site”) is a collection of free, privacy-friendly developer tools available at devutils.run. This Privacy Policy explains what information we do and do not collect when you use the site.
1. Tools run in your browser
The vast majority of our tools (JSON Formatter, Base64, Hash Generator, JWT Decoder, Regex Tester, and so on) run entirely on your device using client-side JavaScript. The text, files, and code you paste into these tools are processed locally in your browser and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
2. Tools that contact third-party services
A small number of network-related tools necessarily send a request to an external service to function. When you use these tools, the relevant input is sent to the provider listed below, and is subject to that provider’s own privacy policy:
- DNS Lookup — the domain you enter is sent to Google Public DNS (dns.google) over HTTPS.
- My IP Address — your public IP and approximate location are retrieved from ipapi.co and api.ipify.org.
- Trending — repository and package data are fetched from the GitHub and npm public APIs.
We do not log or retain the inputs you provide to these tools beyond what is needed to return a result to your browser.
3. Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous traffic patterns (such as which pages are visited). This service is privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information or sell data.
4. Local storage
We store your theme preference (light or dark mode) in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us.
5. Advertising
The site may display advertising in the future. If and when we do, third-party vendors such as Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings.
6. Children’s privacy
DevUtils is intended for a general developer audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
8. Contact
